Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 May 2026
PitchPace is a local-first application. In plain terms: the app runs on your own computer, your training data is saved in a file on your device, and your AI key is stored only in your browser. We do not operate a cloud service that collects or stores your personal training data, and we have no user accounts. This policy explains exactly what that means, and the limited data involved when you visit this website or use third-party AI providers.

1.Scope & who we are
This Privacy Policy covers (a) the PitchPace marketing website you are currently visiting and (b) the PitchPace application you may download from it. "PitchPace", "we", "us" and "our" refer to the maker of PitchPace, reachable via the project's GitHub repository. It does not cover third-party services you choose to connect (such as Anthropic's Claude API), which are governed by their own privacy policies.
2.The app vs. this website
This is an important distinction:
- The PitchPace app is software you download and run on your own machine. We never receive your workouts, profile or notes. There is no PitchPace server holding your data.
- This website exists only to describe PitchPace and let you download it. It is a static site and does not require sign-in.
3.Data stored on your device
When you run PitchPace, the following information is created and stored
locally on your computer — typically in a SQLite database
file (for example backend/data/pitchpace.db) and in your
browser's local storage:
- Profile — details you enter such as name, sport focus, primary event/position, age, height, weight, experience level, weekly target and goals.
- Workouts — sessions you log, including type, date, duration, distance, intensity (RPE), calories, per-activity metrics (e.g. sets, reps, rounds, pace) and free-text notes.
- Coach chats — messages exchanged with the AI coach, stored locally so your conversation persists.
- Settings — your preferences and your API key (see below).
This data stays on your device unless you send it somewhere — for example, by enabling AI features that call an external provider, or by copying the database file yourself.
4.Your API key & AI providers
PitchPace's AI features (coach, training plan, nutrition & recovery) need a language model. You choose how:
- Your own Claude API key. If you add an Anthropic (Claude) API key in Settings, it is stored only in your browser's local storage on your device. We never receive it. When you use an AI feature, your key and the relevant context (your profile, recent sessions and your message) are sent directly from your machine to Anthropic to generate a response. That request is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy and your agreement with Anthropic, and any usage is billed to your own Anthropic account.
- Local Ollama (no key, fully offline). If you run a local Ollama model, AI requests are processed on your own hardware and no data leaves your device.
You can remove your key, switch providers, or disable AI features at any time. Using your own key means you control the relationship (and cost) with the AI provider.
5.What this website collects
We aim to collect as little as possible. We do not ask you to create an account and we do not run advertising or behavioural analytics on this site. However, like virtually all websites, the infrastructure that serves these pages (our hosting/CDN provider — see below) automatically processes basic technical request data such as your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser type (user-agent) and referrer. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure, and prevent abuse. We do not use it to build a profile of you.
6.Cookies & local storage
- This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting/CDN provider may set strictly-necessary cookies for security or load-balancing.
- The app uses your browser's local storage (not cookies) to remember your settings and API key on your own device. This never leaves your machine via PitchPace.
7.Third-party services
Depending on how you use PitchPace, these third parties may be involved. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Anthropic (Claude API) — only if you add a Claude key and use AI features. Receives your prompts and context to generate responses.
- Ollama — if you choose local AI. Runs on your own device; nothing is sent externally.
- Cloudflare — serves and protects this website (and may serve the download). Processes technical request data as described above.
- Railway — if a hosted live demo is offered, it runs the demo app. A demo instance is for evaluation only; do not store private data in it.
8.Data sharing & selling
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We cannot share your training data because we never receive it. The only data "sharing" that occurs is the direct, user-initiated connection from your device to an AI provider you have configured with your own key.
9.Retention & deletion
Because your data lives on your device, you control retention. Delete individual sessions in the app, clear your browser's local storage to remove your settings and key, or delete the local database file to remove everything. Uninstalling the app and deleting its folder removes all locally stored PitchPace data. Data sent to an AI provider is retained according to that provider's policies.
10.Security
The app applies sensible security headers and keeps your key in your browser rather than on a shared server. That said, the security of data on your device ultimately depends on your own machine's security (disk encryption, screen lock, who has access). Treat your API key like a password, and don't expose a locally-run instance to the public internet without adding your own authentication.
11.Children's privacy
PitchPace is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Younger athletes should use PitchPace only with the involvement of a parent, guardian or coach.
12.Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export personal data. Because your PitchPace data is stored locally, you can exercise these rights directly within the app and your browser at any time, without needing to contact us. For any data handled by a third-party AI provider, contact that provider. Questions? Email us — see below.
13.International users
PitchPace can be downloaded and used worldwide. Your training data does not cross borders through us, since it stays on your device. If you use a third-party AI provider, your requests may be processed in the countries where that provider operates.
14.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as PitchPace evolves. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, aim to highlight them on this page. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
